Notary Services
Do you need a notary public?
We always have a notary on duty. Anyone who is having their signature notarized needs to be present and bring a valid government issued ID along with them.
If your documents require witnesses, we recommend calling ahead to ensure staff availability. While we can often provide witnesses, it’s best to confirm in advance to avoid delays.

Notary Services FAQs
What do I need to bring for a notarization?
You must bring a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state-issued ID card, passport, or military ID. The person whose signature is being notarized must be present at the time of the appointment.
Do I need an appointment for notary services?
Appointments are not typically required because we always have a notary on duty. However, if your documents require witnesses or involve multiple signers, we recommend calling ahead to confirm availability and avoid delays.
Can you provide witnesses for my documents?
In many cases, yes. If your document requires one or more witnesses, please call ahead to confirm staff availability. This helps ensure we can accommodate your needs when you arrive.
What types of documents can you notarize?
We notarize a wide variety of documents, including powers of attorney, affidavits, contracts, loan documents, adoption paperwork, child custody documents, divorce documents, wills and trusts, and more.
Do I need a REAL ID, and can CNS Licensing help me get one?
If you plan to fly domestically using your driver’s license or access certain federal facilities, a REAL ID may be required. CNS Licensing helps gather and verify the necessary documentation, ensuring you’re fully prepared before visiting a PennDOT REAL ID Center for final issuance.
Can you notarize documents for use outside the United States?
Yes. We can notarize many international documents. However, requirements vary by country, so we recommend contacting us beforehand to ensure your documents meet the necessary standards.
Can I sign my document before arriving?
No. In most cases, documents should be signed in the presence of the notary. This allows the notary to verify your identity and witness the signing as required by Pennsylvania law.
Do all signers need to be present?
Yes. Every person whose signature requires notarization must appear in person before the notary and provide valid identification.
Can you notarize copies of documents?
We offer certified copy services for certain eligible documents. Contact us to determine whether your document qualifies and what documentation may be required.
Can you help me prepare my notary documents?
Most notarizations can be completed in just a few minutes. More complex transactions involving multiple documents, signers, or witnesses may take longer. Calling ahead can help us prepare for your visit and reduce wait times.
